Trip to the park

Yesterday mummy and I went to the park! The wind was angry and blowing lots!
So it was COLD and we didn't stay long. Poor Thomas the tank engine was getting blown away!

Mummy said she will try to be better at updating the blog, but she's also working hard on a really cool new one for us :)

Farmer Emerson

We visited the Richards' on Monday (Queens Birthday holiday) and Emerson got a taste for farming with Kate. He was LOVING it!
They even have a big red tractor, but we were a little unsure about the tractor!

But we weren't unsure about the BIG DOG. Can safely say Emerson is not scared of big dogs.
We even play soccer with them!

first day at home "bebe stink"

So we are (obviously) now at home. Actually Ashton is now 12 days old, I'm a little behind on posting with the over 400 odd images I've taken the last 12 days. (ok so it's been more than 400, I have about 400 actually edited :) scared yet?)

So here we are on the first day home from hospital.

Ashton gave Emerson a Thomas the tank engine track. Emerson is OBSESSED with it.
At least the moving Thomas!

And we love our baby brother.
Actually it's very cute. The other day Ashton was sound asleep in his rocker, and Emerson was watching "cars" (surprise surprise) but he lent over Ashton and showed him all the characters. It was very cute.
We are already a protective big brother, the minute Emerson hears Ashton cry he says all concerned "oh no bebe"
"bebe cying" (notice the lack of "r" this is how he says it)

Another funny point, during the pregnancy I nicknamed Ashton "bebe" being the french version of baby. (cause the french are just too stylish) well this is exactly how Emerson says "baby". Now I've never actually vocalised the "bebe" nickname, only used it online. So I think that's funny.

Became a family affair. Emerson was keen to help. Whilst undressing Ashton, Emerson pipes up with "bebe stink"
Later that day when my girlfriend Janet came around, Emerson had to teller her
"bebe all, bebe all, bebe All clean"

Indoor play centres & the beach!

On Sunday mummy, daddy and I went to the local play centre! it was so much fun!

Then today, mummy, papi and I went to the beach!
It's getting a little colder now (much colder) but the shells and rocks and waves were still there to enjoy. Lots of sand to run around on! Just as I like it!

Then at home, using my slide as a ramp, papi and I played with - none other than... CARS!

And lili decided to do the trick we were TRYING to get the cat to do.. Cat wasn't interested.

Instead of the usual "cars" movie... we showed Emerson REAL cars. Sure enough, the pixar team got it right. It was spot on. And everyone knows mummy isn't into cars, but this was rather cool. Even the voices were similar!

Mummy had a photo session with Janet. We tired EVERYTHING to get Emerson involved. Finally we succeeded. But here's an example of how much he WANTED to be involved!

"Mama" got mummy a new baby sling from America, and when Emerson saw it, he had to put his baby in it too!

I'm two!! And I'll tell you that too!

Quick trip to Sydney. Mummy & Daddy were hoping to catch up with more friends & family, but with mummy feeling a bit flat it got a little difficult. (Aparently being 31 weeks pregnant makes mummies tired)
But to keep her happy, we did some photo "shoots"
And I was a good boy and looked at the camera..... sometimes :)

This was at the Keey's house, with my darling Lilly & her big sister Maddy! (and of course the car)

With a quick last visit to Rookwood. Amanda and mummy had many ideas and "plans" but lilly and I decided that we were NOT interested.
So here I am, as the big bad wolf, and Lilly as Red Riding Hood.

I got to see Lilly again!!!

Mummy, daddy and I flew on a BIG PLANE all the way (a whole 60 mins) to Sydney for a very brief visit with our friends the Keeys.

Lilly still loves me :)

within 9 weeks I'll be a BIG BROTHER!! I got to hear the baby talking to me the other day at the hospital. The nurse put something on mummy's tummy and the baby was talking to me!! doesn't say much, only BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM... but still - I guess I'll have to teach him how to talk... :)

Remember how I bumped my head!? Well mummy thinks I might have got a bit of concussion (and a slight ear infection). Cause here I am SICK.
Isn't mummy nasty, taking photos of me ill? but then again.. How cute do I look!?
Papi and mummy lined the couch with a doona so it was comfy and lots of towels.. Mum reckons she washed about 20 towels in one day. Or a few towels about 20 times! Oops.

Don't stress Mummy didn't turn it on! Oh and playing my drums... of course ;)

Nappy Free time - A post from Mum

So we have some guests from New Zealand here, our good friends Sam & Julz, and their beautiful little girl Maddie, who's 7 months old.
It's hot here in Melbourne. Today it was 39 degrees (C)

Today we decided to extend the "nappy free time" before bath time a little longer, simply because The Little Mermaid was on, and us mummies really wanted to watch it. Kids were not very interested BTW. We have floorboards so the occasional accidents are ok because they can be cleaned fairly easily. Well by the time the movie had, what, ten minutes left, they'd each had two of them. NO, i lie. Three. But this was fine, the movie was almost over, dinner had been had, and the bath was about to be filled.

I was holding little Maddie and as I dared to open my mouth and say "no more accidents, especially on my lap" Something happened... from the other end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No sooner was mum taking her off my hands, trackies being pulled off (curtains were drawn by the way) that Emerson, standing up at his little table and chairs started CRYING. Not whinging but CRYING. He was standing in a HUGE MESS!!!!!!!!!!!

At the same time. Can you believe that?
I swear you could ask for that kind of timing...
So lots of wipes later, a bucket of nappysan, and a BIG SOAPY bath later we are all clean.

So that's our funny story for today.

And finally here's some images of Miss Maddie asleep & then awake because while Emerson can't stand being in front of the camera, he cannot stand anyone else in the limelight and had to come chatting away into the studio. Waking my beautifully, sleeping, (kinda) curly baby.

Just before we went to the airport we made it to Rookwood.
And as last time mummy visited Rookwood - it was raining. But was so much fun. Greatest place to play hide and seek!

Our Trip to Sydney - Part I - The Modeling

Mum and I went to Sydney in November.
We visited the Keey's family and I fell in love. Her name is Lilly and I'm going to Marry her.
Isn't she a beauty? Mummy's very proud that I found someone so sweet so young.
She even lets me drive her car!

A few outtakes from my brief moments in modeling. You'd think mum would remember that a) I don't like hats, and b) that I'm not good with the whole "photography" thing. But No. She takes me to Sydney to be in a book about hats. Seriously. But I had to be good, cause it was for mummy's friend (and Lilly's mum... gotta impress the future in-laws don't I?)

Well Mummy has been rather slack. But she has been very busy!
We went to New Zealand to see daddy's family. Mummy didn't enjoy the plane trip (I think that might have been my fault haha) but it was lovely there..

Mum-mah (or how I say mummy) loves hats. She also loves knitting. I hate hats.
Mum-mah keeps knitting me hats.
I don't know why because I keep pulling them off. She'll never learn.

Anyway this is a hat she knitted Daddy - but I like this one (maybe because it isn't mine) So I wore it (for a whole 15 minutes - that is a record)

Mum-mah has a friend who also loves knitting and shared this pattern.. Mind you Mum-mah kinda did things wrong and will now knit me ANOTHER ONE. (or maybe make one for Zackky - a baby who is 7 weeks old and lives nearby - he does wear hats)

But LOOK!! I'm looking at the camera! (and wearing a hat!)

Mum-mah is getting her new camera tomorrow (provided the courier turns up on time)
So I daresay she'll have more photos of me soon - have I mentioned I'm not the biggest fan of the camera either? maybe one day...

Mummy's been TERRIBLE

I know she has photos of me.. because she took them.. But where are they!? Your guess is as good as mine. SOMEWHERE on the external hard drive...

So.. to make up for it.. We went to the park. Mummy got excited because while playing hide and seek, I not only looked at the camera, I smile.

(there is a first time for everything - Gemma!!)

More to come when Mummy "proofs" them. (You'd think she was a photographer with all this Photographer speak)

Mummy is very busy now, she is working with Grandma every morning and still has lots and lots of other babies to photograph.

Daddy just had some cool friends from New Zealand to come and stay, so he didn't go to work for two weeks. It was fun! I went to the zoo!!

Papi and I now 'hang out' every morning which is lots of fun.

To our dear friends in New Zealand - Congratulations!
Madison Joan Ogden was born at 2:46am (NZ time) 15th May. At a healthy 7 pounds, 14 ounces. Both Sam & Madison are doing very well and apparently at 1 week old Madison is teasing by almost 'sleeping thru the night!'

(but she did stupidly plug it back with a hair clip....)

Mum is making me say this...
She was lying on her back playing with this wide-angel lens of hers.. I crawled up on her tummy, and just after she took this last photo, I was sick all over her. I felt fine, I think I drank too much milk. But mummy was very upset because it was a new shirt. I kept hearing her mumbling to herself (that) "finally got new clothes that were baby spew free, but what happens? completely out of the blue? baby decides to be ill... typical" that sort of thing. Auntie Val in England gave me this teddy, and he sings to me if I press his hands, feet, tummy and nose. I love him, and tonight was the first time that I pressed all the buttons myself! I also hugged him like a teddy too.. It's a big time for firsts at the moment.

Balloons! {Again!}
Well I had a great birthday, lots of friends and family came to my party, including Nanny and {great} Grandma from New Zealand, and Auntie Carleen and my cousins Nicole and Kaleb from Sydney! I'm so super popular!
Lots of food, and lots of cheer, and I was very lucky and got lots and lots of presents. I had so much fun today playing with them!

Higgins Curry Night {Easter Sunday}

Please excuse mum, She has become very slack with my blog. You'd think she was busy...
Anyway, On Easter Sunday we went to see the Higgins'sssssss. I have lots of {second} cousins, and Little Kiaan (who is a whole 12 weeks younger than me) was the same size! We had fun fighting over wiggles guitars!

I went a 'Balinese paradise' on Good Friday. It was so much fun! Lots of things to explore and try to eat, things like stones, hoses, dirt! YUM! Then I was treated to some yummy chocolate ice cream and had a little swim. YAY! It was a fun today!

STANDING ON MY OWN! but only for a little while.. why stand & walk when you can crawl??

Monique and Troy took mummy, Papi and me down to Kirra on the Gold Coast! We had a lovely place over the road from the beech! It was great fun, while mummy was busy taking photos of Monique and Troy, Papi and I had some male bonding time in the waves!

Mummy and Monique. Mum took some photos of Monique "trashing" her wedding dress. Well not really. It did get VERY wet, and full of sand and made it VERY difficult for Monique to walk home. But they got some lovely fun, wedding type shots. This is Mum "pretending" to be a bridesmaid.

So then because we were both full of sand, mummy put us both in the bath, clothed!

Mummy made me a hat, but it was too big, so it's now hers. So she made me another one!

"I'm the curry monster!" This is my first taste at curry. I LOVE curry. It was so so so so so so nice! It was a very very mild one.

Brisbane Day three

Told you I'd wear the "chicks dig me" singlet today! Went outside to play with the horse today. Having a back garden that's more than dirt is SO MUCH FUN! there are sticks and leaves and so many things to eat!

This is a baby ringtail possum! I'm not allowed to play with him, cause he's a bit small and I tend to smack, not pat!

Troy made me the best toy! He spent a long time making this toy and I loved it. Even if I was very tired and long overdue for a nap.. hence why I'm not smiling..

This is 'Friend Bat'. He is a baby bat. Again, I haven't met him, but told mum to take a photo to show you all!

Having a great time, yesterday I played with Troy in my playpen.. and hung out with Papi while mum went to the markets with Monique and Troy. She got part of my birthday present there (damn I want to see it!) and a singlet that tells the truth "Chicks dig me"!
I'm sure I'll wear it today, and mum will take a photo to show everyone.
Must ask mum to also take a photo of me with Brandy. Apparently he is a dog, but I think he's a horse.. must be, because Lili and Sasha are dogs but this dog is HUGE in comparison!

Hello everyone! It's been a week, mum says she's been busy so hasn't been able to update my blog for me.. I mean really, how much time does running a business from home really take up?
Anyway, Last Sunday (as in the one before last) Dad, mum and I went to do a delivery to on of mum's favorite clients, and then went to visit some of mum's "cool" friends. So I got dressed up to fit in. My super-cool jeans, my new shoes (which are great fun to take off) and the cool new hat, which I actually keep on my head for longer than 5 seconds!

Champion Baby Show

What a day! Today at our local shopping centre, there was a baby show contest.. so mummy took me along to play with the other babies and to sweat it out at the very gruelling competition that is "who's the best baby." So us babies took to the catwalk (well not really) and raised heaps of money for Epilepsy.
Because of my mum's dislike of "fashion" she didn't enter me in the "best dressed baby" even if I was.. Thanks to Carol for my very lovely shirt.

So - here's how I went!
*Runner up in Cutest baby

*Runner up in Bonny Boy
*Runner up in Most beautiful baby
Which lead me to *2nd in Master tot
*3rd for my age group (6-12 months)!!
you should have seen the Chicky babe who came 2nd.. man she was a looker.. couldn't take my eyes off that one!!

and in the "baby world" section (all under 2 years)
*I won the Bonny baby prize

BEST BABY!!!

And finally - all my prizes.. and in typical Higgins-Sears fashion, my ribbons got coffee spilt on them. No matter, I'm still a star!

Almost forgot to mention, cause I came third in the major section (age group) I've been invited back for the Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring baby shows.. I'll keep you updated as to how I go!

Well it' been hot. HOT! It's been 38 two days in a row, and last night was so hot, I had to sleep in the spare room in my port-a-cot with the portable air con unit! However before that, my friends Casey and Amy came around, and while they are too big for my duck bath we still had a game of splash splash! they ran and I splashed them. We all had fun, and I got to parade around naked for a while. AND in front of girls.. oops. But what else can a baby boy ask for?

(oh and mum gave me a Mohawk - It just didn't last very long!)

Today Emerson gave daddy a hand to vacuum. Except he was more interested in playing with it than using it. As soon as dad put on some good music (Sepultura and Back label Society) Emerson became more interested in watching his dad headbanging around the house like a loony!

Well everyone, it's been a little bit warm lately in Melbourne. So after waking up all sweaty Emerson had a bath. Or a splash-splash as it turned out to be! Then, well there was no towels. So we decided to drip dry. Acted as a great air conditioner!

Then, it was close to storming, so Papi decided to show Emerson about the clouds and how they will make a loud noise and flash a few times. He also told Emerson that the clouds were going to cool the place down. That didn't happen. So Emerson got bored of the flashing and the clouds and the noises, and proved that so far, he's not scared of storms. Wish we could say the same for Lili-dog. Who was shaking for hours!

LOOK AT ME!!! I'm off to daycare! I'm gonna play with all the other babies (but Uncle Pat there is a nasty little boy there who on orientation had a yucky football top on, so I may not play with him..) and mummy says that there is no way that the girls will get me to sleep!

I proved her wrong! Just when mummy and papi came to pick me up, I was in the land of nod..
I had peas, corn and carrot for lunch and drank all my bottles. Aparently one of the ladies who looks after me says that she wants to clone me. But everyone knows just who cute I am!

When I woke up I'd had a bit of an accident in my nappy (haha - first day and the ladies cop it!) But didnt like it myself because I hate lying on the change table.. so I had a teary.

But then mummy and papi came to pick me up - again! Who needs to wear pants home? Not me, I'm a cool little dude!
